Honest food reviews from someone with high standards.

No chef credentials. No free meals. No ads. Every restaurant gets the same seven-category rubric, scored 1 to 10, with a weighted final score and a straight verdict on whether it is worth your money.

Why read here

  • Same format every time

Flavor, seasoning, texture, presentation, value, service, and would I return. Six paragraphs, one verdict, one score. You learn the template once.

  • Paid out of pocket

Meals are paid for by the reviewer unless a reader-funded visit is clearly disclosed on the review. Restaurants never pay for coverage.

  • Numbers you can compare

A 7.2 today means the same thing as a 7.2 next year. Sort by score or date and decide before you spend.

The seven categories

Full scale & legend
  • Flavor — Does it taste good?
  • Seasoning — Salt, spice, acid, balance
  • Texture — Crisp, tender, wrong, right
  • Presentation — Did anyone care how it looked?
  • Value — Worth the price?
  • Service — Better or worse because of the staff?
  • Would return — Honest gut check

Independence

Every meal on this site was paid for out of my own pocket. No restaurant has ever paid me, fed me for free in exchange for coverage, or influenced what I write. What you read is exactly what I thought.

Reader contributions may fund a visit when someone submits a restaurant. Those reviews are always disclosed.

Submit a name and address. Optional meal contributions move a visit up the queue — they never touch the score or the writing.
